The Sacrament of Baptism is often called "the door of the Church", because it is the first of the seven sacraments, not only in time (since most Catholics receive it as infants) but in priority, since the reception of the other sacraments depends on it.
It is the first of the three Sacraments of Initiation, the other two being the Sacrament of Confirmation and the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist.
Once baptized, a person becomes a member of the Church. Traditionally, the rite of baptism was held outside the doors of the main part of the church, to signify this fact. At St. Juliana, baptism usually takes place in front of Altar of the church.
Baptism is the very mark of a Christian because it brings us into new life in Christ.

We celebrate holy Communion at the Mass — also known as the Holy Eucharist, the Blessed Sacrament, or the Lord’s Supper — which is the remembrance of Jesus Christ’s words and actions at the last supper, where he took bread and wine and transubstantiated them into the real presence of his body and blood. The faithful in Catholic churches around the world receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist by eating and drinking the real presence of Christ in the consecrated elements. Those who receive holy Communion participate in the — once-for-all — paschal sacrifice of Christ, in which Jesus Christ fulfills the title Lamb of God prefigured in the Old Testament, especially in the context of the Jewish feast of Passover. The consecrated body of Christ becomes for us the “bread of life” (John 6:22-59), and the blood of Christ becomes the “cup of our salvation” (Psalm 116:13) through the power of the Holy Spirit. This Sacrament was instituted by Jesus Christ in promising to send the Holy Spirit [Jn 14:15-21] and attested in the early Church [Acts 8: 191 The celebrant, a bishop or priest delegated by him, invokes the gift of the Holy Spirit upon a baptized person and anoints the candidate with Holy Chrism. Through this sacrament, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. They are as true witnesses of Christ more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed. The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated when a person is a junior/ senior in high school. Students begin preparing in the tenth grade. They must attend classes prior to receiving this sacrament. Classes begin in September and end in May and are held every other Wednesday from 6:00PM to 7:30PM.
